Abyssinia Crowdinvest

The one rule the whole codebase is organised around

Who it's for
Ethiopian firms pursuing an ECMA Crowdfunding Intermediary licence, plus the investors and fundraisers who would transact on the platform once it holds one.
The problem it solves
Directive 980/2024 forbids an intermediary from ever holding or controlling investor funds. Nearly every crowdfunding platform on the market is architected around a wallet and a balance — which makes it structurally unlicensable in Ethiopia no matter how good the product is.

There is no wallet, no balance, and no arbitrary-destination transfer function anywhere in the system. Money lives with an external escrow partner; the platform only instructs and reconciles. Releasing funds to an issuer requires two distinct human authorisers in two different roles, refunds are deliberately constrained, and the ledger is append-only. Built against Directive No. 980/2024 (Part Ten, Arts. 68–77) and Proclamation No. 1248/2021, and benchmarked against Lendahand and PlusPlus.

Running in explicit demonstration mode against PostgreSQL. Built to ECMA licensing requirements; not itself a licensed intermediary.

Every product names its customer

Abyssinia Crowdinvest — primary view

What it does

Three front-ends over one compliance and ledger core: an investor app, a fundraiser portal, and a compliance back-office. The architecture is organised around a single rule — the platform never holds, custodies, or has withdrawal control over investor money.

Why it's different

  • No wallet, no balance, no arbitrary transfer — by architecture, not policy
  • Fund release requires two distinct human authorisers in different roles
  • Append-only ledger with a full compliance back-office

Core capabilities

Each capability maps to a concrete screen in the app.

Investor app

Browse offerings, commit, and track — without the platform ever holding your money.

Fundraiser portal

Raise, report, and reconcile against an external escrow partner.

Compliance console

Back-office review, dual authorisation, and audit for every fund movement.

Directive-shaped

Written against Directive 980/2024 Arts. 68–77 rather than retrofitted to it.

Access

Running in explicit demonstration mode against PostgreSQL. Built to ECMA licensing requirements; not itself a licensed intermediary.
